VERSE OF THE WEEK
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20
Moral Compass
A recent survey of America’s religious landscape found that 72 percent of U.S. adults believe the nation’s moral compass is “pointed in the wrong direction.” Isaiah 6 verses 20 to 25 reveal God’s perception of evil. Cultural shifts cannot change the reality of good and evil. Proverbs 24:24 says, “Whoever says to the wicked, ‘You are in the right,’ will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations.” The following verse, utilizing contrast so common in the book of Proverbs, says, “but those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.” That blessing will come from God. Scripture provides a “true north” by which to set the compass of your life. Do not be distracted from God’s truth by what is going on in the nation and the world today. Test everything by the integrity of His Word. And pray for a turn-around, a repentance, and a revival in this land.
